Soda Dam Revisited
This magnificent piece of nature's art is located up the Jemez Mountains. It is Soda Dam. And it is incredibly stinky ... it smells like rotten eggs. People bathe in this water for it's medicinal purposes. I have previously posted photos of Soda Dam but I really like the way this one came out! Click here to see previous posts. July 18, 2006 and September 20, 2006.
This is one of my favorite places to go and just relax.

Nice shutter speed Helen. Works really well with the shot. So it really stinks?
Helen: Thanks, E Etomi! Yes, it really stinks. You can smell it a good 1/2 mile up the road!
Oh! Un lugar encantador con una buena captura del agua! Me gusta, Helen!
Oh! A lovely place with a good capture of the water! I like, Helen!
Helen: Thanks, Jose!
I'm guessing it's sulphur, Helen, if it stinks like that? I guess you just have to wear nose plugs while bathing in it!
I love this composition. Well done.
Helen: Thank you, Ginnie. I think your right about the sulfur!
Ohhhh this is very cool.
Helen: Hi Gail. Thank you!
This is a much better picture than the earlier ones, and they were pretty good. I'm glad I can't smell it though.
Helen: I was much happier with this one also. Thank you! I'm glad you can't smell it too. Very stinky!
B/W maybe
Helen: I will try that and if I like the results post it! Thanks for the suggestion!
I love what you've done here, Helen!
Helen: Thank you, Kay!
