Summer Fun
At least when it's not thundering and lightning! This is The New Mexico Rattler which is located at Uncle Cliffs here in Albuquerque. I have never been on it but it has been voted one of the Top 25 Wooden Coasters in the world.
Isn't that a lovely grey sky? The thunder and lightning was spectacular.

Someone just told me that, statistically, wooden roller coasters are safer/more reliable than the metal coasters. WOW. I never would have believed it. BUT I'm not a roller coaster person, truth be known. I can take heights but not "drops" like that at break-neck speed. Don't tell me YOU are a fanatic, Helen??
Helen: I am not a fanatic but I do love a good roller coaster ride. Have not been on one in MANY years.
This is a wonderfully dramatic picture Helen but I'm not sure I would be brave enough to go on this!
Helen: I am not sure I would be either, Chris. I leave that to my kids as they are still young and heal fast.
It doesn't look much like summer, and even less like fun
Helen: It is monsoon season here in Albuquerque and it was quite stormy the day I took this. Thank you, Bill!
This is just a stunning picture, love the play of lines in this one.
Helen: Thank you, Astrid.
I adore roller coasters and have been on some pretty big ones all over the world. I did however, bottle out of the one on the top, outside the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas!
It was just outside my personal comfort zone... ha ha Love this photograph, and wish I was on it now going... whoooooaaaahhhhhhh!!
Helen: Thanks, Floog. Yeah, that one on top of the Stratosphere scares me just looking at it.
Superb capture Helen. I like the intricacy of the graphics!
Helen: Thank you, Richard.
superb composition Helen, wonderful shot of this roller coaster
Helen: Thank you, Tim!
